Mokulito — working with wood, ink, watercolour and the printing press.

I love the physicality and unpredictability of Mokulito — a printmaking technique using wood as the printing plate.

The wood itself becomes part of the image, creating natural grain, texture and variation within the finished print.

I often combine Mokulito with woodcut, cutting into the plate to create stronger lines and contrasting textures. I also experiment with adding watercolour during the printing process, bringing another layer of colour and spontaneity to the work.

Many of my prints begin with observations from my sketchbooks, particularly trees, plants and the landscape.
